Three sources of inspiration

A month ago, the sports world set its eyes on following the prettiest game ever created in an unusual place like the Middle East, the FIFA World Cup. Qatar 2022, with all the controversy and dudes, received fans from around the world anxious to see the destiny of the "Al Rihla," a phrase that in Arabic means 'The Journey.' Sports photographers are ready to frame the prematch vibes and the outcomes of the match; I will share three photographers I admire and their recent work covering football.

Ricardo Nogueira

Ricardo is a Brazilian photographer that started his career in 2003. A complete resume of his work could be four world cups (2022, 2018, 2014, 2010), one Olympics game, and several football matches in more than 40 countries. Ricardo lives in Madrid, working mainly with Brazilians and other South American players.

Etzel Espinosa

Etzel is the photography chief of the Mexican National team. He has covered four world cups (2022, 2018, 2014, 2010), seven copa oro, one Olympics game, various youth world championships, boxing matches, and FIBA games. During this World cup, Etzel followed the Mexican players in their matches. I had the chance to attend a Nikon conference where he was the host.

Alexander Hassenstein

Hassenstein is a german staff photographer for Getty Images. He counts on the most extensive resume with 16 Olympics games, five World cups, and 18 Champions league finals. Alexander follows the German National team, and even with their short participation, he has been present in the crucial matches of the knockout stage.

Each of them has a different point and narrative while taking pictures. Following other artists, in this case, sports photographers, can show me how to develop as one of them in the future. I hope to cross paths with them in the next ambitious project of the FIFA World Cup in Mexico, the USA, and Canada.

Durante este Mundial, Etzel siguió a las jugadoras mexicanas en sus partidos. Tuve la oportunidad de asistir a una conferencia de Nikon donde él fue el anfitrión.

Hassenstein es un fotógrafo alemán del personal de Getty Images. Cuenta con el currículum más extenso con 16 Juegos Olímpicos, cinco Copas del Mundo y 18 finales de Champions League. Alexander sigue a la selección alemana, y aún con su corta participación, ha estado presente en los partidos cruciales de los octavos de final.

Cada uno de ellos tiene un punto y una narrativa diferente al tomar fotografías. Seguir a otros artistas, en este caso fotógrafos deportivos, puede mostrarme cómo desarrollarme como uno de ellos en el futuro. Espero cruzarme con ellos en el próximo proyecto ambicioso de la Copa Mundial de la FIFA en México, Estados Unidos y Canadá.
